kits and tutorials

Due to small parts and possible sharp points contained in many of my products, they are not suitable for children and should be kept out of reach of children. Craft kits are not intended to be used by children.

This varies between kits and from person to person, but I'd recommend allowing a minimum of six hours for each kit.

All kits come with step-by-step photo instructions to guide you through the making process. As such, they are suitable for crafters of all abilities, but complete beginners may like to start with one of my smaller kits first to get familiar with the techniques used.

All kits use high quality wool-blend felt sheets. Kits usually comprise a mix of 65% rayon / 35% wool and 80% rayon / 20% wool felt.

tools and techniques

All kits will require a good sharp pair of scissors and a hot glue gun. Other tools required for individual kits will be mentioned in the item listing. A pair of jewellery/craft pliers can also be useful for assembling some of the more intricate flowers. Read my toolkit tips.

Read my toolkit tips for my recommendations on choosing tools for your felt flower making.

Glue gun glue dries very quickly and as such is perfect for making felt flowers which contain multiple parts. This is the only glue I recommend and my patterns are not tested with standard craft or fabric glue.

For my tips and techniques, watch my How To video.

All of my patterns and templates have been designed for hand cutting, but I am now introducing some patterns and kits that can also be used and have been tested with a Cricut Maker. Where this is the case, details will be given in the pattern/kit description.

other

Felt flowers should last for many years, but to prolong their condition I recommend displaying them away from direct sunlight. Due to small parts and sharp points, please keep all items out of reach of children.

Yes, absolutely! I only ask that you credit my shop (The Handmade Florist) when doing so.
